TOP ENTRIES FROM THE GMAC STUDENT REPORTERS’ CHALLENGE 2008

The GMAC Student Reporters’ Challenge 2008 – a creative writing and design competition – was organized by GMAC as part of our ongoing efforts to educate the public on gene modification technology and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Click here to find out more about the Challenge.

The competition attracted nearly 250 participants from 26 primary and 29 secondary schools in Singapore. Depending on their age groups, the participants were asked to create newsletters based on one of the following themes – i) the Basic Science of Genetic Modification (for the Upper Primary Category), ii) Genetically Modified Foods and Crops (for the Lower Secondary Category), and iii) the Biomedical Applications of Gene Modification Technology (for the Upper Secondary Category).

Representatives of Nanyang Primary School, North Vista Secondary School, and Nanyang Girls’ High School, have emerged from the very keen competition to clinch the top prizes in, respectively, the Upper Primary, Lower Secondary, and Upper Secondary categories of the competition.

GMAC would like to allow the top winners to share their knowledge with as wide an audience as possible. Click on the icons below to view, downl
